From March 16 to 20, 17 Pre-DP and DP1 students participated in a volunteer program in Gokayama. Similar to the well-known Shirakawa-go, Gokayama is a historic village famous for its traditional gassho-style houses.
During their stay, the students worked closely with local residents, engaging in farming activities and cultural exchange. Despite the lingering snow, they helped clear snow to prepare for the spring farming season and assisted in harvesting the region’s specialty red turnips. Through these activities, the students gained valuable insights into rural life and the strong sense of community in the area.
In the evenings, the local community kindly organized cultural exchange events, where students learned traditional Bon dances and enjoyed spending time with local children. These interactions created unforgettable memories and meaningful connections beyond language and cultural differences.
In previous years, students participated in agricultural work in Tokushima Prefecture and post-earthquake recovery efforts in Ishikawa Prefecture. This year’s experience in Gokayama was equally enriching, providing many students with once-in-a-lifetime opportunities and fostering significant personal growth.

3月16日至20日，17名Pre-DP及DP1学生前往五箇山开展志愿者活动。五箇山与著名的白川乡一样，是一处保留着传统合掌造民居的历史村落。
在当地期间，学生们与居民一同参与农业劳动和交流活动。在仍有积雪的环境中，学生们通过铲雪协助当地为春季农作做准备，并参与了当地特产红芜菁的采收工作。这些实践让学生们切身体验了乡村生活，也感受到当地社区的温暖与凝聚力。
夜晚，当地居民还为大家安排了丰富的交流活动。学生们学习了传统盆舞，并与当地儿童一起游戏，度过了愉快而难忘的时光。这些跨越语言与文化的交流，成为学生们珍贵的回忆。
前年，学生们在德岛县参与农业活动；去年则前往石川县参与震后重建工作。今年在五箇山的经历同样意义深远，让学生们收获了许多宝贵的人生体验，促进了他们的成长与发展。

3月16日から20日にかけて、Pre-DPおよびDP1の生徒17名が、五箇山にてボランティア活動を行いました。五箇山は、世界的にも知られる白川郷と同様、合掌造りの古民家が美しく立ち並ぶ、歴史と文化が息づく集落です。
現地では、地域の皆様とともに農作業や交流活動に参加しました。まだ雪の残る厳しい環境の中、雪かきを通じて春の農作業の準備をお手伝いしたほか、特産品である赤かぶの収穫にも携わりました。日々の作業を通して、自然と共に生きる知恵や地域の温かさに触れる貴重な機会となりました。
また夜には、地元の方々に盆踊りをご指導いただいたり、子どもたちと遊んだりと、心温まる交流の時間も設けていただきました。言葉や世代を超えたふれあいは、生徒たちにとって忘れがたい思い出となりました。
一昨年は徳島県での農作業、昨年は震災地である石川県にて復興支援活動を実施してきました。今回の五箇山での活動も含め、生徒たちは日常では得難い多くの経験を積み、学びと成長に満ちた大変実りある時間を過ごすことができました。
